Since the 20th century, bamboo has received rising attention for industrial applications, particularly as raw material for biocomposite products due to its fast growing, rapid maturity, high productivity, and superior strength properties.

As an example, major automaker, Ford is focusing on sustainably sourced materials for use in manufacturing. Ford is evaluating plastics made stronger by bamboo fiber for interior car parts like storage bins or side panels.

Bamboo fiber is not only a renewable alternative to traditional reinforcement materials like glass fiber, it's also 15% to 20% lighter.
